Heidi & John

"Stephen Vincent is a local jeweler who I have followed since I moved to Minneapolis.  His store used to be downtown Minneapolis in one of the skyscrapers and I walked past it daily.  I was brokenhearted one day when I walked past and it was closed.  I continued to check his website with no updates.  After I moved from Uptown to Downtown warehouse district, I walked to work one day and backpedaled when I saw Stephen Vincent’s logo on a storefront.  I brought my sister in one day after telling her I dream of jewelry from him someday.  The store was busy, so they called Stephen to come down to help us.  I was awestruck as if I met a celebrity.  He was so humble and shared with my sister and I that he had cancer and closed down his store during treatment.  We shared our Dad’s cancer story with him and had a really intimate conversation – he’s so personable and made so much time for us that day.  Now, he’s recovered and opened his storefront directly below his working studio so it’s all in one spot.  John may have heard me talk about this story and for my 28th birthday, he told me he had a surprise date night celebration.  He picked me up from work and drove to Stephen’s studio.  He set up an appointment for us to look at engagement rings.  I was SO giddy the entire evening.  It was so fun to begin designing my ring with him.  He later returned to Stephen Vincent without me to select the diamond and finalize the design.  After we got engaged, we knew we’d have to complete our ring selection with a custom ring for John and a custom band for me.  We made another fun date day with a pit stop at Stephen’s studio.  We designed John’s band after trying on multiple rings and combining a few of the designs.  It is so cool and unique.  Being a designer myself, I may have done a 3D drawing of my wedding band with the diamond placements throughout and a few on the side.  Both of our wedding bands are so gorgeous and we couldn’t be happier to share the creation process with each other and Stephen.  They are timeless jewelry pieces which is exactly what we wanted."
